Thyroid lipomatosis in a patient of post renal transplantation

Thyroid lipomatosis is a rare benign disease with very few cases available in literature. We report case of 48 year old Indian male who presented progressive swelling front neck since 5 years and difficulty breathing lying down position along swallowing for the last 2 months. He known post renal transplantation chronic kidney due to secondary AA amyloidosis. Total thyroidectomy was done histopathology showed diffuse thyroid lipomatosis, no evidence amyloid deposition or papillary carcinoma. Fatty tissue not commonly detected within gland. Here we have reviewed literature discussed various differential diagnosis lipomatosis.
